Finally some Good News !

Hi Everyone,

Firstly I'm sorry I have been largely absent the last few weeks from both blogging and commenting, I've been feeling a bit low since my op and my mojo had also deserted me which hasn't helped either.
But yesterday I had the news I had been hoping for that my biopsy was all clear and my lump is benign ! I suppose I hadn't realised how it was affecting me but now I feel like someone has taken their finger off the pause button on my life and I can stop moping about and get on with things again :)

Sooo anyway with that weight lifted I finally managed to make a couple of cards thank goodness, especially as I was desperate to join in with Scrappymo's March Rudolf Challenge and the Merry Monday Challenge both of which I'm just catching in time with this card.

I found this image already printed out in one of my folders, I think he is so cute ! I thought it was a DigiStamp Boutique image but I can't find it on the site so I think it has been retired.
I have coloured him with Promarkers and sadly you can't see on the photo (it's been raining all day and so the lighting was terrible) but the fur on his hat and the ribbons on the gifts have had the Wink of Stella treatment and are really sparkly.
The tartan paper is from The Works and the gold pearlescent card is Anna Marie Designs.
I finished off with some punched snowflakes and a Clearly Besotted snowflake which I have added a red gem to. I have a small confession to make, the snowflake right next to the pup wasn't meant to be there it was intended to be further up but I dropped it and would have been left with a glue mark so there it had to stay Lol.

That's all for now

MTTC Challenge #367 - Sketch Time

Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry I have been awol all week, I have had one of those stomach flu bugs which my thoughtful hubby lovingly shared with me ! I wouldn't mind but his only lasted about 36 hrs while I have had it since Monday :( Feeling much better today though and this afternoon I suddenly realised the date and that it was the start of a new Challenge at My Time to Craft.
This fortnight our theme is a Sketch

For my card I have used a magazine freebie set which I found in my NBUS box, it's by Spellbinders and there are loads of stamps on there so I have left it out on my desk to hopefully use some of the others too.

I used paper from Dovecraft 'Floral Muse' and smooth buff card, I cut the panel and then used my Tonic corner punch. I stamped the same little flower stamp 3 times and coloured them with Promarkers then cut out with a stitched circle die. The sentiment is from a CBS set.
Finished off with some faux stitching and pearls from stash.

Don't forget to pop over to the Challenge blog and check out my lovely teamies creations and we look forward to seeing yours too :)

Best Friends

Good Morning,

Well that blooming white stuff is back ! It snowed all day yesterday, doesn't look as if we have had any more in the night though so hopefully it won't hang around too long.

My card today is one I made for a customer recently using  'Party Time Zoe & Flo' from DSB, unfortunately I think it has been retired as I can't find it on the website.

I coloured them with Promarkers and used a Gelly roll Sparkle pen to colour the fizz and bubbles. I also doodled around the edge of the panel and around the sentiments with the sparkle pen. It's really sparkly IRL but I couldn't get it to show up in the pic very well. The pink heart paper is Lawn Fawn and the spotty strip I found in my bit box.
I used a Tonic punch to punch some flowers to match the one in her hair. Sentiments - computer generated.

Challenges:

CCC Digi Creations Challenge#90 - For the Girls
Aud Sentiments Challenge#199 - Bingo + Sentiment (Patterned paper, digi stamp & favourite colour Pink)
I Love Promarkers#354 - For a Girl
Cute Card Thursday Challenge#521 - Celebrate !

That's all for now, have a great Sunday and thank you for looking today :)

Single Rose

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all well, the weather has been better this week and we have had a fair bit of sunshine. Snow is forecast for the weekend though so we might not have seen the last of it yet.

My card today is using the single rose from a Penny Black stamp set called 'Petal Party'

I stamped it in Memento black ink and coloured with Promarkers and added detail with a white gel pen. It was then cut out with the stitched rectangle from MFT Blueprints 13 and then matted onto cream hammered cardstock. The papers were from a Kaisercraft booklet free in a magazine and the striped ribbon was recycled from a M&S flower gift.
Sentiment is one of the new clear stamps at DigiStamp Boutique. Pearls from EBay.

I am entering this card into the following Challenges:

Aud Sentiments Challenge #199 - Bingo + Sentiment (Patterned Paper, Stamp, Favourite colour)
CraftyCreations Challenge #362 - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations March Challenge - Any Occasion
I love Promarkers #364 - For a Girl

That's all for now, thank you for looking today

Easter Chick - MAWTT Challenge Easter

Good Morning Everyone,

A new Challenge is starting over at Moving Along With The Times today and the theme this time is Easter ! Here is my DT card

I used another cute DigiStamp Boutique image 'Quacky Easter' to make my Granddaughter's Easter card. Coloured with Promarkers and used a white gel pen to add polka dots to the eggs ribbon to match the real ribbon. I matted the panel with pale blue cardstock and then used an Edgeables die that was a magazine free gift a while ago to cut a fancy top in white. I love the effect but goodness it was a nightmare to cut ! Even using wax paper and a 3 in 1 tool to prise it out it still took 4 attempts before I got one that didn't tear getting it out :(  Got there in the end though Lol.

The papers were from my snippets box and I added some little butterflies, ribbon and pearls to finish off.

Pop over to the MAWTT blog and check out my talented teamie's gorgeous creations and we look forward to seeing your entries too.

Garden Veggies

Good Morning Everyone,

I have started working on some Father's Day cards, quite early I know but these important dates tend to creep up and as I have been sharing mainly girly cards lately I thought it was time for a masculine one !

I used 'In the Garden - Veggies' from DSB and printed it out twice so that I could decoupage the image. I also printed some of the seed packets out bigger to use as embellishments. Everything was coloured with Promarkers and the layers popped up with glue gel and I finished with twine and a little trowel charm.
I have made this as a male card but it could just as easily be for a female by changing the papers and maybe the colour of the wellies hmmm polka dot wellies ....next time !

I am entering this card into the challenge at As You Like It where the theme is Single/Multiple Layers & why....recently I have been enjoying the challenge of making more CAS and one layer cards but I love pretty papers too so keep gravitating back to layers ;)

Mother's Day Rosie

Hi Everyone,

Hope you have all been having a wonderful weekend and enjoying a fabulous Mother's Day all of you lovely Mums out there !
I was thoroughly spoilt with flowers and choccies from my girls :)
Sadly my own Mum is no longer here so today is tinged with sadness at no longer being able to spoil her...I miss not making her a card as she used to love receiving them in fact she is the reason I started this blog.

I shared my MIL's card with you quite a while ago now so I thought I would show you the card I made for my grand-daughter to give her Mum.

I used another image from DigiStamp Boutique from Rosie Collection 1 as soon as I saw her she reminded me of our Freya !
I coloured her with my Promarkers and cut her out with my Ebay Stitched Circle Dies, the sentiment was created on the computer using Crushed font. The pretty paper was a pullout from a magazine and I love it so much I kept the rest of the card as simple as possible so as not to cover it up just added some bright blue ribbon and a few butterflies.

I'm entering this card into the following Challenges:

Alphabet Challenge - Y is Your Choice
Aud Sentiments Challenge - ATG
CCC Digi Creations Challenge #90 - For the Girls
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge March -  ATG
I love Promarkers Challenge #354 - For a girl
Passion for Promarkers #434 - Only Girls Allowed
Cute Card Thursday #520 - Mothers

My Time to Craft #366 - Easter or Spring

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm here with my DT card for the new Challenge that has started over at My Time to Craft, the theme this fortnight is Easter or Spring.

For my card I used a cute bunny from a DigiStamp Boutique set 'Easter Bunny Set' you get 3 images in this set for 60p !! Bargain :)

I coloured him with Promarkers and went over the Easter bunting with Wink of Stella. The papers I used were snippets from a 12 x 12 pad from The Works years ago, I think I've nearly used them all up now. The flowers were punched with a Tonic punch and are from the reverse side of the same papers.
A few pearls to finish and that's it. This card is for my daughter so I kept it fairly simple as she doesn't like frilly ;)

Pop over to the Challenge Blog to check out the fab creations from my talented teamies and we look forward to seeing your entries there too.

Have a wonderful Saturday whatever your plans,
That's all for now,

Hugs, Kaz xxx

Xmas Poinsettia

Hi Everyone,

I have a card to share today that I made using the sketch at the latest Christmas Card Throwdown challenge

This is my take on the sketch

I used a Penny Black set that was a magazine freebie years ago, I stamped the Poinsettia 3 times and coloured with Promarkers then fussy cut them out which took absolutely ages lol. I used some satin gold card as a mat then cut the circle slightly off the edge of some white card and layered that onto the stripey paper which is from a pad from The Works.
I then popped the flowers up with glue gel and used some gold liquid pearls for the centres.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I really love the font.

I would like to enter the following Challenges:

Christmas Card Throwdown 03 - Sketch
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge March
Creative Inspirations March Challenge - Any Occasion
The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge - Anything Goes
The Merry Christmas Challenge #10 - Anything Christmas

Lavinia Seed Pods

Hi Everyone,
I had a lovely birthday yesterday crafting all snuggled up in my craft room and as a change I decided to spend some time getting inky !

I made a few cards for various challenges and this is one of them

I have had this Lavinia stamp for a couple of years and this is the first time it has seen any ink, I love this company's stamps they stamp so crisply especially when stamped with Versafine as this was. I then embossed it with clear powder. I blended Spiced Marmalade distress ink over the top, then using a virtually dry paintbrush I added a bit more of the colour to the pods.
Sentiment is from the Many Mini Messages set - Clearly Besotted.

I would like to enter the following Challenges:

Less is More #366 - Monochrome
CAS on Friday - One Layer

That's all for now,

Floral Thank you

Hi Everyone,

Thank you so much for all of your lovely messages, comments and emails, my op went very well on Thursday and the consultant seemed quite happy. I had a lump removed and a biopsy done which I have to wait for the results for...crossing fingers and toes...but she said that she wasn't expecting anything nasty to come back from that so here's hoping that it's all over and done with now :)

I have been really tired the last couple of days, probably lack of sleep for the last couple of weeks catching up but I managed a bit of time in my craft room yesterday and made a very simple Thank you card to send to the nurses at the day surgery unit as they were so lovely.

I was looking through my unused stash box and came across a magazine freebie pack which consisted of some pretty flowery papers, some co-ordinating chipboard embellishments and a set of stamps including the large Thank You sentiment that I used here. There was also some pretty flower corner stamps but as I wasn't in the mood for colouring I decided to just use the sentiment and embellish with a couple of the chipboard buttons from the pack.
The card is a little 4" square.
As I said very simple but I like it :)

Planning to spend a couple of hours crafting this afternoon, enjoy the rest of your Saturday whatever you are up to !
